What does it mean to not judge people? Does it really mean dont - TopicsExpress

What does it mean to not judge people? Does it really mean dont judge people? Does that mean the United States is wrong to have a judicial system and judges who judge people, sometimes even to death? Shall we do away with laws and prisons? Is it wrong to tell someone something is wrong? Is that judging? Dont buy into the nonsense of the world. Dont buy into people who twist scripture. The scripture says this: Matthew 7:1-5 NIV “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. Jesus isnt saying dont correct people or dont tell people their actions are wrong. Jesus is saying dont correct others and call them to repentance of the very things of which you havent repented. He is also saying in the same way you judge, you also will be judged. So if you judge others without mercy, you will be judged without mercy. And if you judge others while you do the same thing, the punishment you assign to them will be assigned to you. We are to judge others the same way a good father judges his children: with love and mercy, with compassion and forgiveness, with grace and wisdom, with correction and teaching, with discipleship and encouragement.
