What does it take to attract and cultivate a global tribe? When I think about the people I know and love around the globe, I marvel at all the interconnectedness of my tribe. [+] Long time friends from the SF Bay who have sat up in ceremony with my friends in Brazil (independently of me) [+] People who I met & befriended deep in the jungle, showing up in SF Bay house parties, hosted by friends of friends. [+] Entrepreneurs from my business masterminds & digital nomad community appearing in the alternative communities and festivals I frequent. Ive often pondered the random, yet complete synchronicity of these overlaps & encounters. This is what I think contributes to having pods of friends and open doors to great communities all over the world. 1. Openness. Being open and willing to connect with anyone with a good vibe and an interesting story to tell, regardless of ethnicity, social or economic status. 2. Generosity. Being willing to provide value up front, to be helpful, share and be a great guest. 3. Connectivity. Being very social, online and offline. Being willing to connect with people & introduce others via social media, email and in person. Having an integrated online presence that makes it easy for link-minded people to find and connect with you. 4. Gratitude. Knowing that nobody, not even the Universe owes you anything, so anything received is a wonderful gift. I am SO LOOKING FORWARD to my next 3 months where I will have the delicious opportunity to enjoy friends, family and tribe in 3 fantastic parts of the world - the SF Bay, Alto Paraíso de Goaís, Brazil, and Costa Rica.
