What does the Bible say about resentment/anger? Mark 11:25: And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” 1 Corinthians 13:1-13: If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 1 Corinthians 13:4-7: Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. James 5:16: Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. Ephesians 4:31: Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Hebrews 12:15: See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled; 1 Timothy 2:8: I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling; Matthew 6:15: But if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Proverbs 31:10-31: An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life. She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands. She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar. Job 36:13: The godless in heart cherish anger; they do not cry for help when he binds them. Leviticus 19:18 You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord. Its careful to note that some of these Scriptures dont quote resentment or anger. However, we must take into account that both forgiveness and accountability are key to living a life of righteousness which pleases God. Therefore, we must make every attempt to be sweet, loving, compassionate, encouraging, and all other Christ-like attributes so all prospects are reached for His kingdom. If the prospect is already a Christian, regardless of your relationship status with them, it is your responsibility to identify your word and deed to Christ so He is glorified and Satan the ill-ability to get a foothold. Thereby we must also heavily consider that personalities are different which is a clear indicator that certain attractions may vary from time to time. This constitutes a right to examine your own personality as well as others with the likely possibility for all things peaceful, hopeful, and so on. If this is succeeded, truth will be inevitable and affective in every facet.
