What exactly do we want as Ebonyians? Do we want to develop or remain undeveloped? Do we want to be empowered or remain hawkers on the streets of Lagos, Port Harcourt, Benin and other major cities in Nigeria? What do we want as Ebonyians. No doubt, we want progress; we want development; we want empowerment. How do we know who can give all these to us, so that we vote him in as our Governor? The Bible says that by their fruits, we shall know them. Lets go into an intellectual and honest assessment of the available guber candidates for the 2015 elections. What have each one of them done to better the lots of Ebonyians. Since 2007, Engr Dave Umahi has been awarding scholarships to Ebonyians. He spent ten million naira on that in 2007; twenty million naira in 2008; thirty million naira in 2009; forty million naira in 2010. It has continued till date. A university don, Dr Tina Nweze (EBSU) manages it. For more on this, go to daveumahifoundation. Engr Dave has empowered many; he has built houses and bought cars and motorcycles for many. Since 2007, the only project the president has come to Ebonyi State to commission, the Ebonyi PDP secretariat, was built by Dave as party Chairman. Dave built the most beautiful hotel in Ebonyi state. Dave Umahi, has erected several church buildings across denominational divides in Ebonyi State. He, with his own money, erected, in Abakaliki, the best and most beautiful church building in the whole of the South East of Nigeria. Who then is Edon and what has he done in and for Ebonyi State and Ebonyians? I know none that I can talk about. Edons hotel in Enugu, built with money solely made in Ebonyi state, is run by non-Ebonyians, with Ebonyians as mere gate men and security guards. I shall stop here for now.#ROUN
