What excellent proof of what football has become: Mexico -Netherlands. One guy makes a schwalbe, a fake dive ... and miljons of people become happy and other miljons become very unhappy when a penalty is given for a false reason. Methods and techniques exist to monitor and judge these situations in a no-room-for-error way, but the FIFA does not want to use these (while other sports do). This is very fine and clear proof of the view of the FIFA on honesty. And what about their big campaignes for fairplay? These are clearly just a smoke-operation, a slap in the face for all people trying to do things the proper way. We, teachers, work hard on learning kids the basics on honesty :( while on the big screen, they see clear examples of how dishonesty pays off, bigtime :( We still have a lot of work to do. *************** Een mooi staaltje of bewijs van wat voetbal eigenlijk geworden is: Mexico - NL: miljoenen mensen dolgelukkig en anderen dan weer diepbedroefd .. en allemaal door een kerel die overduidelijk voor de hele wereld een prachtige schwalbe maakte, een valse snoekduik. Dikke komedie en toch valselijk een penalty toegewezen krijgen. De middelen bestaan om dit soort situaties te controleren en bestraffen ... maar de voetbalbond wil niet (terwijl het bij andere sporten wél kan en gebeurt). Als dat geen mooi voorbeeld is van hoe men bij de voetbalbond over eerlijkheid denkt. En dan nog met grootse campagnes fairplay gaan promoten?? Het kleinste kind kan via de TV-beelden zien dat er hier sprake was van bedrog. We zullen wij in het onderwijs maar proberen om kinderen eerlijkheid bij te brengen :( terwijl ze op het TV-scherm zien hoe oneerlijkheid tóch aan het langste eind trekt. Ludo De Greef
