What happened to the Tensegrity Structure? as we used to call - TopicsExpress

What happened to the Tensegrity Structure? as we used to call it -aka us- My name is Retel Tulio. Ive been doing Tensegrity since 1998 when the book (Magical Passes) was published. I started to practice in the local group of my city and attended most workshops in Europe till 2004 when I moved to Los Angeles in order to take Cleargreen classes. Form 1998 to 2008 I practiced mostly in groups. What marked this decade was the rubber-band -connected-wooden-stick Structure of Tensegrity. I was a stick among many sticks held in place by the practice of Tensegrity. Often we (the sticks) were roommates and we shared activities and ideas of collaboration. The eagerness to seek the companion of each other and the desire to do thing together culminated in 2007 when a number of practitioners organized a two-day practice event in a retreat center in Joshua Tree. It was an excellent event. In little groups we went onto the stage and lead the practice one form at a time. Everything was planned and rehearsed in advance and the whole event fell into place with ease. We did a couple of stalking exercises as well and I was surprised when I found out that they had been designed by regular practitioners and not by Tensegrity instructors. In those same years in Europe there were annual Tensegrity practices with a large number of participants. If the Tensegrity Structure have had a chance to stand up and walk; this was the time. We were large in number, high in spirit, and we all wanted it. We all wanted to be part of it. What came instead, was the opposite. While the leadership was fighting over money and copyrights, the Tensegrity world became disappointed. Practitioners started to give away their books, their wheel of times and gave up their practices. Practice groups dried up, Gypsy Camp closed, Amberweb became desolated. Most old practitioners I used to see all the time are gone by now. Sometimes I bump into someone just to find out that he/she is not interested anymore. The dream of the Tensegrity Structure is over. The leadership has split into two legal businesses, both of them selling their own mentoring programs, (taking advantage of the practitioners desire to be on stage). Modul 1, 2, 3, Level 1, 2, 3 and I bet, in the end you get your certificate. About what? That you are ready? For what? To teach? I wonder what good does your certificate do for you in the world of energy. If somebody tells you that you are ready he is a charlatan. It is very unlikely that the mass of Tensegrity practitioners will reach a critical mass and ignite a positive change in the world. Not our generation. We seem to have missed the boat. We are being divided and conquered. The social order has taken us down. The genuine search, the unmonetized practice of Tensegrity that used to power the Structure is being defeated by ignorance and by the blind belief in either of the organizations. The engine of the Structure was the altruistic, free and collective practice of Tensegrity and not the business of Tensegrity. If the pillar of your faith is a salary, what merit does it have? What remained untouched is the solitary work of isolated warriors and their struggle to dismantle the plot of their personal history. Good luck Retel Tulio, Los Angeles, 2014 March 8.
