What happens if you are in a lake when lightning strikes? If it was very close it will affect you and you might get burned or killed in rare cases but just lightning hitting the water just anywhere in the lake wont be any problem. The electricity spreads out. It mostly stays on the surface. You can be inside a wet tent and lightning strikes it and you dont feel a thing if the electricity goes down the outside of the wet tent to the ground. Faraday cages work like that. All the electricity stays on the outside. On the video a man is inside a Faraday cage with millions of volts of artificial lightning hitting it.
