What happens of the soul after death? It undergoes the process of leaving the old body and taking rebirth with a new body. In this world where air, water, fire, earth and life are recycled, where the time recycles itself as days, weeks, years and yugas, the soul is also recycled many a time through new body after the fall of worn out old body. వాసాంసి జీర్ణాని యథా విహాయ నవాని గృహ్ణాని నరో2పరాణి తథా శరీరాణి విహాయ జీర్ణా న్యన్యాని సంయాతి నవాని దేహీ | భగవద్గీత 2-22 Just like we throw away the old clothes and wear new clothes, the soul (Jeevaatma) is leaving the old body and taking new body - Bhagavad Gita 2-22 Those people who are soul-realised look at death as only a continuation. Those who are yet to realise their souls see death as a dead end, and yet realise themselves as souls after death, and forget their soul nature upon rebirth.
