What has Mr.Vellappilli got to do with the selection of candidates of political parties execpt the fact that he is a voter himself.As voter he can make his mind to vote for some one he likes. As the secretaray of SNDP organization ,he has no right to tell the members of his communitiy to vote for a particular party or candidate.That would be interference of communal leaders in the election. If he wants to engage himself in politics ,he can form a political party and contest the election nobody prevents him from doing so. Otherwise his will be a blackmail politics to get his interest fulfilled from politcal parties and that would be undesired in a democracy.
