What if Franz Ferdinand is not assassinated in 1914 and World War - TopicsExpress

What if Franz Ferdinand is not assassinated in 1914 and World War I breaks out in 1917 (Germany couldnt find a sufficient excuse to go to war before that point in time, to the great disappointment of some/many German politicians and military personnel) instead once Franz Joseph dies and Franz Ferdinand fails to renew the Ausgleich (leading to Hungary attempting to break away from Austria, which causes Russia to support Hungary, which activates the European alliance systems). In this TL, Germany would adopt an East-first strategy (going on the offense in the east while playing defense in the west) due to the Schlieffen Plan/Proposal already being perceived as being obsolete due to the completion of Russias Great Military Program. Due to this and due to the fact that it became unsure as to whether or not Germany or Russia is currently the greatest threat to the European balance of power, Britain decides, at least initially, to remain neutral in this TLs World War I in the hope that Germany and Russia will bleed each other dry and thus weaken both of them. France still obviously enters World War I on Russias side in this TL. Does the Ottoman Empire still enter World War I in this TL? Also, how exactly does this TLs World War I turn out (in regards to this war itself and to the outcome of this war)? Thoughts on this?
