What if I told you that you are going to have the most beautiful, - TopicsExpress

What if I told you that you are going to have the most beautiful, perfect little baby boy or girl someday? Theyre going to be so sweet and happy. They will have the brightest blue eyes that will light up the darkest of days. They will have a giggle so wonderful it will make you smile just thinking about it. But wait there is more, they are also going to have cancer as a 2nd grader and since there isnt enough funding for research, theyre going to suffer through horrible treatments for the chance to be able to grow up. Just when you think things are getting better and their hair is growing back and you see that sparkle in their eyes again, you hear the words. the cancer is back, I am so sorry. Your child will need a bone marrow transplant in order to survive. No one is a match in your family, we will have to depend on a complete stranger(a German man) from another country to donate their own bone marrow to save your baby. Then the transplant, watching as your child is taken as close to death as can be imagined. Pain so horrible that you beg God to please end their life now to spare them from the pain and suffering. Praying for Gods will and then watching as suddenly out of no where a small trickle of hope sneaks in through the darkness. Engraftment of those strangers cells that are now rushing to produce life giving cells. Fevers stop, Rigors cease, ANC rises, Platelets come up, tears dry, morphine is weaned, Gods will is you are going to keep your baby with you on earth today. Relief, Thankfulness spilling over, discharged from the hospital, physical therapy, pills, clinic visits, tests, tests and more tests, liquids, breathing in and out. pinch me I am dreaming. skipping, laughing, Jumping, running, swimming, spinning. HOME! Birthday, Back to School, HEAVEN on EARTH. #BEBOLDGOGOLD #bethematch #childhoodcancerawareness #1diseasekillerinkids
