What is God doing? He is continually bringing us to the end of our resources, humbling us, so that He can be free to live His resurrection life through us. He has chosen the path. He leads us through it. He teaches us in it. And He never fails us. Never. He alone is incapable of failing or forsaking His own. He is faithful. Always. Many years ago, as a new believer, I felt as if my world was falling apart. Everything was going wrong, I thought. The enemy pursuing me, a Red Sea before me, and I felt as if God could never use me. I was at a home sharing my burdens with the father of one of our elders, Ray Smith. His dad, an elderly, retired, Pentecostal pastor was on a roof nailing shingles. He patiently listened, stopped hammering, looked down at me, and said, “Son, God will make a way where there is no way.” He has. He will. Perhaps today you are there. Discouraged. Defeated. Dismayed. I haven’t walked with God as long as Ray smith’s dad had when he spoke those prophetic words to me, but I want you to believe this: God will make a way where there is no way. It’s what He does. He is God and you are his treasure. By faith just thank Him now for what He has done, is doing, and will continue to do until you stand in His glorious presence. Jude wrote: 24 Now to the One who can keep you upright and plant you firmly in His presence—clean, unmarked, and joyful in the light of His glory— 25 to the one and only God, our Savior, through Jesus the Anointed our Lord, be glory and greatness and might and authority; just as it has been since before He created time, may it continue now and into eternity. Amen.
