[What is My Favorite Hadeeth?] When anybody asks me that, i will answer, there are many, which one do you want? Is it i like the most when Im happy? Or when Im sad? Tell me, and then he/she say, When youre feeling down, I will tell him/her this hadeeth which recited in Al-Arbaeen An-Nawaweeyah. Which Hadeeth is it? الحديث التاسع عشر: عن أبي العباس عبدالله بن عباس رضي الله عنهما قال: كنت خلف النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يوماً، فقال لي: “يا غلام، إنّي أعلمك كلماتٍ: احفظ الله يحفظك، احفظ الله تجده تجاهك، إذا سألت فاسأل اللهَ، وإذا استعنت فاستعن بالله، واعلم أن الأمة لو اجتمعت على أن ينفعوك بشيء لم ينفعوك إلا بشيء قد كتبه الله لك، وإن اجتمعوا على أن يضرّوك بشيء لم يضروك إلا بشيء قد كتبه الله عليك، رفعت الأقلام وجفت الصحف”، رواه الترمذي وقال: حديث حسن صحيح. The Nineteenth Hadeeth: From Abul Abbaas Abdullah bin Abbas radhiyallaahu anhumaa, he said: One day, i was behind an-Nabi shalallaahu alaihi wa sallam, he said to me: O dear child, Truly i will teach you some advices: Remember Allah, Allah sure remembers you. Remember Allah, you will find Him in presence for you. If you want to ask something, ask to Allah. If you want to plead for aid, plead to Allah. And you must know, if Ummah become united to give you benefit with something, they wont give you benefit except with something that Allah write it for you. And if they are united to bring you misfortune with something, they wont bring you misfortune except with something that Allah write it for you. The Pen was lifted, and The Sheets was dry. [at-Tirmidzi narrated it and said: Hadeeth Hasan Shahiih] Why do i like this hadeeth most? It is beautiful, It is deep in meaning, and... somehow -bi idznillaah- it comforts me when im feeling down. We should memorize it, it is not difficult insyaa Allah.
