What is Roman Catholicsm? This article is intended for the those that follow and practice Catholic teachings, but also as a reproof and education to Christians about the truth behind the Catholic Church. I want it to be known that those of you who do follow and practice Catholic teaching are not the enemy, but if you, who are reading this, believe and practice the things Im going to talk about in this article, I could not argue from scripture that you are Saved by Jesus Christ because you are working inquity. The Roman Catholic Church, from which all Catholicism spreads, has been, for 1700 years, teaching a false gospel that is not of Christ, and though this is very hard for a life-long Catholic to take in, Jesus Christ said His sheep hear his voice, so those who have truly repented and humbled themselves before Him will hear this message. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: -John 10:27 The public mantra is: You should be loving to the Catholics. I agree, but love is not equivalent to submitting to personal preferences. Love in the Bible equates to keeping the Word of God, and therefore, there is nothing more loving than the truth. Allowing someone to fall into hell based on a false religious system is not loving at all. (Read The Biblical Definition of Love here at creationliberty for more details.) Others have said to me, Are not Catholics brethren in Christ? I am NOT saying that those who attend the Catholic Church are not Saved by Jesus Christ, but I AM saying that those who believe and practice the following teachings of the Catholic Church Im going to quote in this article are not Saved, and if the Lord wills, I pray I can be of some assistance to those Catholics seeking the truth of Scripture. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; -Matthew 7:21 What I will say in this will offend almost all who claim Catholicism is Biblical, and also those who falsely believe that all Catholics are brethren in Christ, and many will hate me because of this, but I love Catholics too much to allow them to perish in hell for eternity with their hopes in false system. Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth? -Galatians 4:16 Though most Catholics will have already closed this article before continuing, if you are still reading, and have decided you do not want to hear me, then I pray that you would be willing to listen to a short video from a 23-year-veteran Catholic priest who was born-again: (For those who refuse to read my words, but will listen to Richard, you can visit Berean Beacon to get more information; whatever you decide to do, I beg you, if youre a Catholic, to learn more before its too late.) Purgatory: The Magic Safety Net Purgatory is the glue that holds the entire Catholic religion together. If the Catholic church removed purgatory from its teachings, it would be very hard to convince anyone to join the Catholic Church. purgatory (Lat., purgare, to make clean, to purify): in accordance with Catholic teaching is a place or condition of temporal punishment for those who, departing this life in Gods grace, are, not entirely free from venial faults, or have not fully paid the satisfaction due to their transgressions (See Hanna, E. (1911), Purgatory, Catholic Encyclopedia, New York: Robert Appleton Company, Dec 31, 2009, New Advent - newadvent.org/cathen/12575a.htm) When you simplify it, purgatory is a saftey net in which, according to the Catholics, you dont go to heaven or hell when you die, but rather you go to neutral limbo state where you get things sorted out, meaning, that you must pay the full penalty for all your sins. The attraction of purgatory is that it means a man can be a Catholic and live like a devil in drunkenness, fornication, etc, and in the end, he still gets to go to heaven after he goes to the limbo state to sweat out all his sins. Hell just have to wait in purgatory a while because he was naughty in his lust, and God has to give him a bit of a spanking before he can enter heaven. Literally billions are going to end up in hell because they put their hopes into this lie. Purgatory is not mentioned in the Bible at all, and there is nothing Scriptural that can be used in favor of it, but lets address the following verses Catholics commonly use as proof for it: Catholic Proof for Purgatory - Verse #1 1 Corinthians 3:12-15 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every mans work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every mans work of what sort it is. If any mans work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any mans work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. The Catholic interpretation is that man will be judged based upon his good works. He has to go to purgatory to have them tried, and then remains there until God says it okay to come to heaven. It is common, in my experience, for Catholics to leave out the verse just before these: For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. -1 Corinthians 3:11 The foundation which those works are built upon is the Lord Jesus Christ, which means it is by Him ALONE that we are saved. In verse 15, it says that if any mans work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss, but he himself shall be saved. So, obviously, the foundation is on Jesus Christ, just as verse 11 tells us, and if one tries to instead build a foundation through works, it will still fall. If you consider the analogy he makes carefully, even if one builds a vast array of gold, silver and precious stones, he will still fall into hell without Jesus Christ as a foundation, and Jesus explained to us why that is in Matthew 7: Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. -Matthew 7:24-27 (Catholics try to get people to believe that the rock was Peter, and that he was a pope. Later, well Scripturally demonstrate that the rock of foundation is faith on the Lord Jesus Christ.) The works of man are about what type of work you are doing, but the foundation is about the location upon which you build, and the Bible tells us in 1Cr 3:11 that there is no foundation a man can lay except the Lord Jesus Christ. There is NOWHERE in 1 Corinthians that speaks of a purgatory, nor some place you go to work out all your sin before God allows you into heaven. Its something you have to believe from your imagination; its not something that comes from the Word of God. The works are burned up for the purpose of REWARD, not for building stepping stones to cross the lake of fire. To add a magical safety net to these verses is a very dangerous thing to teach because that is adding to the Word of God, and Revelation 22:18 puts a curse anyone who does that. Catholic Proof for Purgatory - Verse #2 Matthew 5:26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing. As we will see repeated often in this article, the Catholic Church has a habit of taking one verse out of context to create an entire doctrine of it. This is not talking about a limbo state you go to after you die, its talking about a prison sentence here on Earth! Lets back up a few verses and read the context: Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. -Matthew 5:23-24 So the context is set for us, that if we have sinned against God, and wronged our brother in the process, we go first to the one we have offended to reconcile with them. Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. -Matthew 5:25 So we go in humility towards our brethren, and seek forgiveness, if we have offended them in a way that breaks the law of the land, otherwise, well end up in jail. Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing. -Matthew 5:26 Where are we coming out of? Prison. What are paying? The penalty for our crimes here on earth. There is no indication, in any remote sense, that this would be referring to a place of limbo where you go to get all your sins worked out before God lets you into heaven. Jesus Christ is reminding us that those born again in Christ are handled by the family in matters of the law. However, in terms of man, we will be handled by the full extent of the law of the land. The scripture in Matthew 5 has absolutely nothing to do with a purgatory. Problems with Ignoring Context This is a fine example of what is called reading into the text, without taking the passage in context of whats being said. Christ rebuked Satan for doing that exact same thing. The devil would quote a piece of the scripture, saying It is written... and then Christ would correct him with the proper scripture in its rightful context. For example, if one were to read the famous phrase by George Washington, Dont fire until you see the whites of their eyes, that could be interpreted many ways. One could think, Wow, what a sick, bloodthirsty psychopath! He wants his soldiers to look their enemies in the face when they die, and that is how easy it is to analyze words out of context. So how do we interpret Washingtons phrase? We have to read it in context of the situation; they were simply low on ammunition and Washington wanted to conserve bullets. It is easy to develope strange ideas when one leaves his/her mind open to free range interpretation, and likewise, when we take the Bible out of context, all sorts of weird theories are developed, which is how cults get started. Catholic Proof for Purgatory - Verse #3 Matthew 18:34-35 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses. Again, the Catholic interpretation of these verses is that God has a place where those that owe God something will have to pay it all off, but we read it in the context of whats being said. Starting in verse 21, Peter gives us the topic of context by posing a question to the Lord Jesus Christ: Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants... -Matthew 18:21-23 This is where Christ begins to tell us another parable, and as we read continue to read in Matthew 18, we learn of a servant that owed much to his lord. The lord was about to call in all the debt, and the servant begged him to forgive the debt. The lord forgave all the debts. Then, that same servant went out and forced someone else to pay all their debts own to him. The lord was angered by the fact that he forgave all the servants debt, but the servant was unwilling to forgive someone else the debt owed by another, and because of that, the lord made the servant pay all that he owed. This parable is teaching us that we are to forgive others their trespasses as the Lord God forgives us ours. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. -Matthew 6:12 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. -Matthew 6:14-15 So then, towards the end of the parable, Jesus Christ tells us what happens to the servant, and then tells us the interpretation: And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses. -Matthew 18:34-35 This is another example of the Catholic Church teaching false doctrine by taking Scripture out of its context. Purgatory is completely made up in the imagination, but billions hold on to this idea simply because they fear hell, and instead of putting all their hope and faith into the Lord Jesus Christs grace to be sufficient for Salvation, they instead put their trust in men. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. -Psalm 118:8 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. -Phillipians 3:3 The works we do in this life earn us reward, as we read earlier from 1 Corinthians 3, but they do not build us a ladder to heaven. Purgatory is what creates a safety net by which the Catholic Church builds a following, helping people to be more comfortable with their sin and alleviate their fears of hell, but it has nothing to do with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. -Romans 5:8-9 We are Saved through Christs sacrifice on the cross once and for all: Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the peoples: for this he did once, when he offered up himself. -Hebrews 7:27 We will cover the mass in the next section, but the mass is sung for the lost souls in purgatory, and these priests of the Catholic Church are offering up sacrifice for his sins and the sins of others, which is an abomination unto God because it ignores the price His Son paid on a blood stained cross, and it tells God that His sacrifice and grace is not sufficient. And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. -1 John 2:2 propitiation: the atonement or atoning sacrifice offered to God to assuage his wrath and render him propitious to sinners (See propitiation, Noah Websters Dicitonary, 1828, [1828.mshaffer]) As we see from 1 John 2, the atoning sacrificed was made by Jesus Christ, and as we see from Hebrews 7, it was made ONCE for all men, not to be repeated as the priests do. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. -Hebrews 10:10 The Catholic Church, however, along with some Catholics I spoken with, curses every evangelical Christian, like myself, to damnation and destruction for believing what the Scriptures clearly teach: If any one saith, that, after the grace of Justification has been received, to every penitent sinner the guilt is remitted, and the debt of eternal punishment is blotted out in such wise, that there remains not any debt of temporal punishment to be discharged either in this world, or in the next in Purgatory, before the entrance to the kingdom of heaven can be opened (to him); let him be anathema. -James Waterworth, Canons and Decrees of the Sacred and Ecumenical Council of Trent, 2003 Reprint, Kessinger Publishing, Canon #30, p. 48, ISBN: 9780766138414 anathema: a person or thing detested or loathed or accursed or consigned to damnation or destruction (See anathema Random House Dictionary, Random House Inc, 2010; See also The American Heritage Science Dictionary, Houghton Mifflin Company, 2010) In case you didnt understand what the Catholic Church just stated, it means that if you believe that Jesus Christ is the one and only sacrifice that is the propitiation for sin, and that purgatory is not real, then you are cursed to damnation and destruction by their religious system. If you hold the Catholic Church as authority, you are likewise cursing and damning me, and every evangelical like myself. If you are a Catholic, we must recognize that this is the doctrine your church believes, practices, and teaches, as stated from their own ruling documents. If their doctrine troubles you, then it would be wise to disassociate yourself with that religion, and get involved in a church that believes the New Testament Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. This will certainly upset a number of Catholics, and I have received a number of emails from Catholics seeking to argue their belief in purgatory, claiming that the Catholic Church is the authority by which all Christians should submit themselves unto, but I should not be receiving any email on this issue. Canon 1325 is very clear on the fact that Catholics need to get the Holy Sees permission to email me anything concerning Catholicism: Catholics shall not enter into any disputes or conference with non-Catholics -- especially public ones -- without the permission of the Holy See or in urgent cases of the local ordinary. [local ordinary = bishop] -Bishop Charles H. Helmsing statements from Canon 1325, quoted by the National Catholic Reporter, Vol. 4, No. 50, Oct 16, 1968 The Mass & Transubstantiation And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. -Luke 22:19 This act of taking bread and wine, from the passover supper before Christ went to the cross, is commonly referred to as communion, based on 1st Corinthians: The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? -1 Corinthians 10:16 The Catholic church, however, though it calls this practice communion, considers this also to be a sacrifice of what they call the eucharist: eucharist (n): the consecrated elements of bread and wine offered in the sacrament; Mass, esp when regarded as the service where the sacrament of the Eucharist is administered (See eucharist, Random House Dictionary, Random House Inc, 2013; See also Collins English Dictionary, 10th Edition, William Collins Sons & Co, 2009) The term eucharist does not appear in the Bible, nor does the term sacrament. sacrament (n): a symbol; pledge, something regarded as possessing a sacred or mysterious significance; an outward sign combined with a prescribed form of words and regarded as conferring some specific grace upon those who receive it (See sacrament, Random House Dictionary, Random House Inc, 2013; See also Collins English Dictionary, 10th Edition, William Collins Sons & Co, 2009) The Latin, language in which the Catholic church was developed, of sacrament comes from the base word consecrate. consecrate (v): to make or declare sacred; set apart or dedicate to the service of a deity; to make (something) an object of honor or veneration; to change (bread and wine) into the Eucharist (See consecrate, Random House Dictionary, Random House Inc, 2013; See also Collins English Dictionary, 10th Edition, William Collins Sons & Co, 2009) In a nutshell, the communion in Catholic circles is a consecration of the sacraments of the Eucharist, or in other words, Catholics believe their priests have the power to put a blessing on bread and wine that transforms it into the literal body and blood of Jesus Christ (known as transubstantiation -- well get to that in a moment), and they consume it as a work that is supposed to bestow saving grace to the one who receives it. Our Savior at the Last Supper... instituted the Eucharistic sacrifice of his Body and Blood... -New Catechism of the Catholic Church (Vatican II), Sacrosanctum Concilium, Consitution on the Sacred Liturgy #47; See also Matthew Bunson, Our Sunday Visitors Catholic Almanac, Our Sunday Visitor Publishing, 2008, Declarations of Vatican II, p. 178, ISBN: 9781592764419 So the Catholic church teaches that Jesus Christ started up a sacrificial ceremony that needs to be repeated, because they believe everyone must eat of the body and blood of Christ. [Christ] offered up to God the Father His own body and blood under the [form of] bread and wine... -Council of Trent, Session XXII, Chapter I; See also William E. Addis & Thomas Arnold, A Catholic Dictionary, The Catholic Publication Society Co, 1884, The Eucharist, p. 320 Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat. -Genesis 9:3-4 It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood. -Leviticus 3:17 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. -Acts 15:20 Though we can eat meat, we cook the meat, and do NOT consume the blood. Even in the Old Testament, the sacrifices made for the atonement of sin had the blood drained out of them (Lev 4:7), the meat cooked, and they did not consume the blood. The Catholic church believes they are turning wine to blood, and then requiring their laity drink it. Oddly, because the blood sacrifice might offend some people, the Catholic Church will say its the blood of Christ, but then turn around in contradictory fashing and say its unbloody. [Christ, in the mass] perpetuates in an unbloody manner the sacrifice offered on the cross. -Vatican Council II, Vol. 1: The Conciliar and Postconciliar Documents, p. 103; See also Peter M. J. Stravinskas, Our Sunday Visitors Catholic Encyclopedia, Our Sunday Visitor Publishing, 1998, The Eucharist, p. 390, ISBN: 9780879736699 So we have the blood being drunk in the mass, converted by priests to be the literal blood, but the Catholic Church also says its unbloody? This is also supposed to be a sacrifice of the Eucharist to receive saving grace and remission of sins, but theres no receiving of grace without the shedding of blood. This is one of the strangest heretical paradoxes Ive ever heard of out of all the wordly religions Ive studied. And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. -Hebrews 9:22 Blood sacrifice is a required payment for sin, but the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ paid that debt once and for all, never to be repeated. The Catholic Church DENIES Jesus Christ by continuing blood sacrifice. Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the peoples: for this he [Jesus] did once, when he offered up himself. -Hebrews 7:27 The mass is truly a propitiatory sacrifice... [by which] the Lord is appeased. He grants grace... and He pardons wrongdoings and sins, even grave ones. -John A. Hardon, The Catholic Catechism, Random House Inc, 1975, Ritual and Worship, p. 468, ISBN: 9780385080453 The Eucharist is above all else a sacrifice. It is the sacrifice of the Redemption and also the sacrifice of the New Covenant, -Pope John Paul II, quoted by Steven J. Schloder, Architecture in Communion: Impementing the Second Vatican Council, Ignatius Press, 1998, p. 52, ISBN: 9780898706314 It is abomination in the sight of God to keep making sacrifices when His Son already took care of it. The Catholic Church may as well be slapping God in the face to say, Your Sons sacrifice is not enough, we need to do more. This is the beginning of the works the Catholic Church requires from the members of its laity, teaching them they must do works to gain more grace, when the Bible says we receive grace by our faith, the payment for our punishment is paid in full, and NO AMOUNT OF WORKS will earn you forgiveness of sin. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. -Ephesians 2:8-9 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. -Hebrews 10:16-18 Its either by grace, or by works, but it cant be both, and if we rely on Catholic mass to give us grace, we will end up in hell: And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. -Romans 11:6 To say one receives grace through works is a complete contradiction, and denies the one, final, ultimate sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross. Another thing the Catholic Church ignores completely is that Jesus Christ said this do in REMEMBERANCE of me, not this do to get your loved ones out of purgatory. This concept of sacrificial masses is a very serious heresy because when the abomination of desolation is talked about in Scripture (Mat 24:15), its referring to the abomination of the Jews who start up sacrifices again in the temple in the last days (ignoring the sacrifice of Jesus Christ once and for all), and thus God views the practice of repeated sacrifices in the mass as abomination. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. -Hebrews 10:10 transubstantiation (n): the changing of the elements of the bread and wine, when they are consecrated in the Eucharist, into the body and blood of Christ (See transubstantiation, Random House Dictionary, Random House Inc, 2013; See also Collins English Dictionary, 10th Edition, William Collins Sons & Co, 2009) The Catholic Church believes and teaches that the bread and wine is the literal body and blood of Christ, transformed by a miracle of the priests, but still retaining the taste, smell, and appearance of bread and wine. This is, as I know of no other way to put it, absurd, and has no Scriptural backing to it whatsoever. Lets say Jesus performed the miracle of turning water into wine, but did so under the appearance of remaining water. It would have been pointed out immediately as a fraud, and rightly so. What if Jesus had performed the miracle of bringing a man back to life, but under the appearance of the man remaining dead? Again, that is absurd. Yet, so many people believe that the Catholic priests are performing a miracle of turning bread and wine into the literal body and blood of Christ, under the appearance of remaining bread and wine; that is not a miracle, its a fraud. When Christ says, I am the door, (John 10:7) are we to say that he is literally made of wood? When Christ says, My sheep hear my voice, (John 10:27) are we to conclude that he is literally talking to sheep? Those are ridiculous concepts, and we know through simple context what Christ is referring to, but the Catholic Church has done a marvelous job of convincing a huge number of people against the clear teaching of Scripture. Anyone who doesnt believe that the Catholic Church cannot turn bread into Christs body, and wine into Christs blood, they are cursed to damnation and destruction: If any one saith, that, in the sacred and holy sacrament of the Eucharist, the substance of the bread and wine remains conjointly with the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, and denieth wonderful and singular conversion of the whole substance of the bread into the body, and the whole substance of the wine into the blood... which conversion indeed the Catholic Church most aptly calls Transubstantiation; let him be anathema. -Archibald A. Hodge, Outlines of Theology, Hodder & Stoughton, 1878, Section 22, Cannon #1, p. 647 Despite the clear teachings in the New Testament, the Catholic Church believes that this transubstantiated Eucharist is a sacrifice that needs to be made repeatedly, and you must come to their priests and give your money to the church to receive the benefits of it. They take away the reliance on the Lord Jesus Christ, and put the priesthood in His place, bringing men and women into bondage. If you believe the following verses, the Cahtolic Church has cursed you to damnation and destruction: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. -Hebrews 10:12-14 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. -Hebrews 9:12 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; -Hebrews 9:28 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: -1 Peter 3:18 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. -Jude 1:3 I dont see how this could be more clear to those who read and study Gods Word. Christ did not go to the cross so we would need to sacrifice him again and again, and require us to gain indulgences from the Catholic Church, as we will see in the next section. But the Catholic Church, in defiance to the Word of God, curses people like me to damnation and destruction for teaching the truth of Scripture: If any one saith, that in the mass a true and proper sacrifice is not offered to God; or, that to be offered is nothing else but that Christ is given us to eat; let him be anathema. -Archibald A. Hodge, Outlines of Theology, Hodder & Stoughton, 1878, Section 22, Cannon #1, p. 647 If you are a Catholic, we must recognize that this is the doctrine your church believes, practices, and teaches, as stated from their own ruling documents. If their doctrine troubles you, then it would be wise to disassociate yourself with that religion, and get involved in a church that believes the New Testament Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. .Creation Liberty Evangelism
