What is “Spinlates”? Other than the obvious...Spinning combined with Pilates. It is an original creation from Bodies by Pilates. I talk about the three aspects of fitness a lot. Strength, Flexibility, and Cardio. It is crucial to include these three things in whatever type of exercise you choose to spend your valuable time doing. Spinlates takes the guesswork out of “how do I fit it all into my busy life”? The spinning portion is obviously the cardio piece. We spend 20 to 30 minutes focusing on fat burning and muscle building by adjusting the tension accordingly. Spinning tends to be a love/hate relationship with a lot of people because as addicting as it may be for some...others feel very intimidated. A 45 minute spinning class is intimidating for most people, this is why 20-30 minutes is much more appealing to those who still aren’t sure if they can embrace it. Not only that, when you work efficiently and are truly focusing on fat burning, you only need 20 to 30 minutes! The strength and flexibility aspects of fitness come from the 30 to 40 minutes of Pilates on the reformer. We spend that time lengthening ourselves by putting our legs and hands in straps and strengthening our powerhouse as we “scoop” and challenge our core to a level unlike any other. Every exercise in Pilates (no matter what piece of equipment you use), is initiated from your center (your core). This is why there is no other exercise that can compare to Pilates. Plain and simple, Spinlates is a match made in heaven! One hour to sweat, be motivated by good tunes, stretch our bodies out to be more limber, and experience an abdominal workout that will empower you to want to come back. Those who do it...LOVE IT! If you don’t do it...give it a try. I think you might be pleasantly surprised.
