What is creation but the whisper of God to us? The Creator communicates with us through that which He has created. Romans 1:20 (NLT) 20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. What He did is a reflection and revelation of who He is. The God in the world above us was whispering in the world around us. This planet is Gods platform from which He speaks of His person and power and provision. Perhaps the earliest evidence of this creation communique is found in the book of Job... Job 26:7-14 (NLT) 7 God stretches the northern sky over empty space and hangs the earth on nothing. 8 He wraps the rain in his thick clouds, and the clouds don’t burst with the weight. 9 He covers the face of the moon,[a] shrouding it with his clouds. 10 He created the horizon when he separated the waters; he set the boundary between day and night. 11 The foundations of heaven tremble; they shudder at his rebuke. 12 By his power the sea grew calm. By his skill he crushed the great sea monster.[b] 13 His Spirit made the heavens beautiful, and his power pierced the gliding serpent. 14 These are just the beginning of all that he does, merely a whisper of his power. Who, then, can comprehend the thunder of his power?” ... merely a whisper of His power. He was only whispering when He made the Milky Way, put the rings around Saturn and strung out the uncountable constellations and fashioned worlds yet to be chartered and discovered? Yes! He was only whispering when His power was throughout the universe displayed? Yes! He didnt have to over exert, over extend, over exercise His ability - He whispered and worlds were formed. He spoke and planets appeared. He said: let there be ... and there it was! Where are you right now as you are reading this? Can you see a mountain, a sky or sea - Listen, God is whispering to you! Job compares the whisper of his power to the thunder of His power. My Friend, if Creation is His Whisper then what of His thunder? Who can calculate or even start to comprehend the fierce, far reaching thunder of His power? What if He spoke without the filters of His grace and goodness? Wouldnt the earth shake, the islands flee away and mountains be shattered as glass at the sound of a His thunderous voice? The Good News is that today He speaks gently through Jesus... Hebrews 1:1-2 (NLT) 1 Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. 2 And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe. Quiet your heart just now. Turn the distractions off. Listen to The Lord of creation tell of His peace and provision for us. He clothes the lily, feeds the sparrow, and sees if one falls to the ground. Dont be afraid. He whispers and Genesis begins.
