What is in my mind....September 23, 1122 A.D. This happened in 11th and 12th century. On SEptember 23, 1122, (sumad karon), marked the end of the INVESTITURE CONTROVERSY during the Middle Age Europe. On this day, Pope Callixtus II and Emperor Henry V of the Holy Roman Empire, signed the Concordat of Worms (a city in Germany) the treaty ending the controversy ending the powers of the monarchs and emperors to appoint Bishops, Abbotts, Archbishops for the Church. There was no clear separation of the Church and State and each tried to meddle the affairs of each one. There were times that Popes appointed who would be the next king or emperors and so did they do also for the Holy Roman Church. the Concordat of Worms in 1122 ended the controversy. Since then only the Popes can appoint its own Bishops, Primates, Metropolitan, Abbots for all Abbeys, etc. in the whole Church up to today. That is wny during Chuch ceremony for the investiture of the new Pope or Bishops heads of states are invited only and during a program installing a new President or Prime Minister, Church officials are there only to give an Invocation, bisag keynote speaker dili na, and that is all. It was because the kings would also invoke of their Divine Powers, that was why they were regarded too as Gods.....Kings are Gods and the subjects bowed to them. the Popes too were very powerful. they could depose a sitting monarch from his throne.....Pulos isog ang mga tawo sa una. As of today, it is not practice. Thanks to the Concordat of Worms, it was a triumph for the Church and the kings were now forbidden to appoint ecclesiastical dignitaries. Karon kon naay mahimong Obispo sa usa ka lugar, and Governnor, Congressman ug mga officials are invited for the PAKALS only. Kon naa poy oattaking sa mga Gov ug Congressman, and Pari or Bishop are invited to give the Prayers.... mora na lang unya siempre Lamesa human sa misa......Karon bitaw inig ka January, 2014 Pope Francis will come. And he does not want the President or any government men to be starring. he wanted only the Yolanda victims to eat with him..... and be with him....Ambut ug matuman man na.... naa man jud mo- id-id ug mosalida jud.......
