What is inherently wrong or fallacious about the statement - TopicsExpress

What is inherently wrong or fallacious about the statement following the next? Its the same logic I have very often heard people imploring (both theist and non-theist). As a catholic I always found troubling that the majority of the so called catholics do not know how to be one. Hypocrisy was the main thing that Jesus criticized. -(Comment on some unrelated facebook group) It is my view that this sort of reasoning is highly inconsistent, and it does virtue no service. When you claim that the majority of a particular group are ethically/morally in error, it should follow that pledging to them (even in the most spiritual sense) should be considered hypocritical, not the implication that there are individual anomalies within said group/belief, so its completely okay, because some Nazis actually helped Jews escaped! I guess the REAL question is -- does the above quotation paint the author as a hypocrite, in your PERSONAL view?
