What is it about corporations that gives them the death - TopicsExpress

What is it about corporations that gives them the death force? Struggling with this one. How come good people can come together to create an organisation that is wholly destructive? How come companies like McDonalds, Coca-Cola, Tescos etc have incredibly bad reputations, not just amongst the green fringes, but amongst mainstream society? Yet the individual people who work for these companies are just like me and you. I work for a big company, luckily it doesnt obviously appear to pollute the environment (other than inflict Jeremy Kyle on everyone...), and I can vouch for the fact that everyone who works here is just lovely. In fact, almost everyone I know in life is lovely, kind, socially aware, empathetic and inspiring. So what is it about companies that makes good people destruct the world? Where does it all go wrong? As someone who has my finger in a number of pies, how can I personally keep my companies green and ethical, without making crappy needless products that destroy the world? Ive already discussed a number of ways to be more green - keep it 100% honest; keep it 100% in keeping with Jesus teachings (even if you dont believe in God, you can still respect Jesuss teachings as a Best Practice manual); keep it small and only gradually, organically expand (rather than starting too big and unwieldy). Any other ways of running a decent business that doesnt screw over the world? What are the big mistakes that companies make?
