What is on my mind? On this Pastor appreciations Month I give honor to where it really belongs. Prov 31:10-28 10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. 11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. 12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. 13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. 14 She is like the merchants ships; she bringeth her food from afar. 15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. 16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. 17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. 18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. 19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. 20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. 21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. 22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. 23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. 24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. 25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. 26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. 27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. What us on my mind, Little things Ive seen that went un noticed by my children and most. Ive seen a young teenage girl walk away from the popular girls because she was threatened to be ousted for refusing to look down on and ridiculing a less popular girl. Only to become her friend instead. Ive seen her work unselfishly as a young person baby setting for free and cleaning houses for young mothers so they could enjoy a night out. I’ve seen her work hours in ladies groups raising money for missions. I’ve seen this young girl finish a 20 mile walk for missions with blisters on her feet, when most dropped out. Ive seen this same individual ridiculed and lied upon because she would not bend and bow under pressure to go with the flow of injustice. Ive seen her do the work and accomplish the work of ten women raising thousands of $ through the years for the kingdom of God, at times with only excuses by her side to help her, simply because it was something needed to be done for the sake of the kingdom. I witnessed and watched as she followed a man with only a kingdom vision to offer her. I look back in amazement and think what kind of woman would stand by me as I left a full time good job with benefits and perks, to pastor a church with 20 people to walk by faith and build a church with the only thing to stand on was a Honey God told me to do it! Never knowing where our next dollar would come from. Ive watched her wear the hats of, wife, house wife, pastor’s wife, financial planner and advisor for families, doctor nurse, janitor babysitter, marriage counselor, youth leader, Sunday school teacher. Financial Lending firm with her own grocery money so others would have. Organizer of every kind of state event, bible study teacher, etc. Ive watched her raise other peoples children and young people because their own mothers didnt want them. Organize weddings, bake cakes, youth events, fundraiser’s; Ive watched her faithfully put birthday parties together with no money to work with. Ive watched her feed bible college students, wash and fold their cloths, mother them and love the home sick students until they could get back home. Make homemade meals on a moment’s notice to groups of kids that my kids would bring home. Ive watched her take in and house the unwanted other’s rejected. Ive watch as she encouraged me to give away many times the only money we had to help someone in need. Buy clothes, food for someone less fortunate. Ive watch this woman pretend not to be hungry go without to feed her family. Ive watched her sacrifice for her family and other’s never asking anything for herself in return. Spend days sacrificing for the church and organization at times only to be ridiculed. Ive seen her spend hours and days teaching and helping people do their budgets. Ive watch and continue to watch the unselfish sacrifice she makes for her church family , children and grandchildren, Ive watched her continuously drop everything for herself, to always be there for others, . Through all this Ive seen her rejected ridiculed, lied on. Talked about, Taken advantage of stolen from, disrespected to her face. And yet she still only has a heart of a servant and continues to love and stands beside her family, me. And the church any time she is needed or called upon. I just want to say I love my Godly wife and mother of my children. And the First Lady of New Life. I am so thankful for having this woman who loves truth. And the most unselfish person Ive ever met bar none. I and My children and many folks have benefitted greatly from her wisdom and unselfish love, I honor my wife, The Mother of my children and grandchildren and the first lady of New life Sis Debbie Gobin
