What is the root cause of deep disconnect between the Indian state and the people of Bastar? Probably we have to go back five decades and remember Lohandiguda massacre. Then read I Pravir The Adivasi God written in 1966 by Maharaja Pravir Chandra Bhanjdev. Then it will be useful to ask why he was murdered with his tribal associates on 25th March 1966 in his palace in Jagdalpur by the police forces during Congress Raj. Socialist leader Dr Lohia was among the few to condemn it in Lok Sabha and warn Congress rulers about its dangerous consequences for the nation. But they did not care. Today all the concern and care is proving inadequate to have any connectivity. Forgive us people of Bastar. We plead guilty of most unfair treatment in those years of arrogance of power.
