What is the value of $100? More specifically...what is the value of $100 to you, and what is the value of $100 to me? Perhaps I already have food, a place to live and clothing -- perhaps I will go to a movie and go bowling with my $100. Perhaps you are raising children and struggling to feed them. Perhaps you havent bought groceries for the week yet. Your $100 will buy groceries for you and your children. The value of $100 is not a numerically equivalent concept. Clearly, $100 can have frivolous value or be incredibly valuable. What is worse: stealing $100 from Bill Gates, or stealing $100 from a single mother struggling to make ends meet? The answer, extrapolating from previous logic, should be clear. When a politician is corrupt and/or fraudulent, they steal from both. But there are numerous struggling families for every Bill Gates around, so the extent and magnitude of their crime is obscene. Any politician who commits such blatant, corrupt and fraudulent acts on the people of this country should be put to death. Put this into law, and I will become a politician.
