What it means to be a mom. When I first had my son, I realized that there was no more me as I knew it. There was my son and my daughter, first and foremost. Forget my needs and wants, the kids come first. Self becomes less important. I am so grateful and thankful I am a mother. My life has more meaning because of it...to have that kind of love...that love a parent has for a child and what it means to be loved by a child is indescribable. What it meant to be a cancer mom. When my daughter was first diagnosed, I realized that my life had changed completely...there was my before and after. Every word, look, gesture...even hearing the beating of her heart took on a whole new meaning. I tried to capture everything with my heart. My heart became like a camera. That changes everything. Life became even more of more. What it means to be a mom of a son and a daughter who is forever 3. Ive changed. I taste and savor every little thing. What used to bug me, doesnt anymore. Because you realise that the little things that used to drive you crazy, dont matter in the least and you realize that every little moment in life that happens is so completely precious. I stop to listen to my sons heart beat...and I remember when Anjalis stopped. That changes everything. I love you still, Life, and I am grateful still, for you.
