What may be a harmless native species in one place can cause serious negative impacts in new environments. As a Pacific nation the U.S. is deeply engaged in this issue and commends Palaus leadership in combatting invasive species. Tomorrows event from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Palasia hotel will highlight the state of invasive species in the region, the negative impacts (we will hear some cases-studies from Palau) and opportunities and initiatives such as the Regional Biosecurity Plan (Micronesia + Hawaii) and the regional invasive species project. #PIF2014
