What mobile service do you use? My kids need to upgrade their phones and I just found out that every time one of us upgrades our phone using their discounted cost, it will cost us an extra $25 per month as we lose our family plan discount for that person because they need to offset us getting a discount on the cost of upgrading our phone. I just found this out because I recently upgraded to the iphone 6. So, now because I upgraded my phone, with them raising the cost of my service to cover the cost of me getting the phone at a discount, Im actually paying more than retail price for it. :( I didnt see this when I upgraded and only saw a one time $40 upgrade fee. Nothing was mentioned about changing my current plan. I received a text message telling me of the change and when I called them their explanation was that they cannot give a discount on the service and a discount on the phone as they needed to make up the money they lost for selling the phone to me at a discount. So.... there is really no discounted cost to buy the phone. At least with AT&T. My kids both need to upgrade, not to the iphone 6 but was thinking 4 or 5 but I dont want to pay $300 a month for phone service as that is what it will be after we lose their discounts as well. Ive never had this happen before with upgrading. I think this is a terrible way to lose business and no longer want to deal with AT&T.
