What more can be said about the system for Christmas Eve. Many - TopicsExpress

What more can be said about the system for Christmas Eve. Many people wont like it, but the answer is simple. There is the potential for accumulating snow across the area. Key word is potential. Theres a lot of uncertainty regarding the evolution, but it comes down to two things. #1 - What track will the secondary low pressure system take? #2 - If a favorable track, will enough cold air filter into the area in time to change the rain into snow. Precipitation will fall from late morning into late evening Christmas Eve. I am working feverishly trying to remain confident in forecasting what state of matter that precipitation falls in. Believe me I know a lot of you are frustrated waiting for the answers, but imagine how those who forecast this on a daily basis are feeling. Sometimes Mother Nature shows her hand well in advance, other times she hits an ace on the river. STILL not ready to sound the alarms of a widespread accumulating event, STILL feel a couple of inches are possible, however with a more northwesterly track more of us may be affected. Snow lovers: Get down on your knees and pray to Nature Claus that a stronger more northwesterly track evolves. The stronger the system the more cold air drawn into it thus the greater chance for snow.
