What or Who is an Adventist? Misapplying the name Adventist The first answer we are likely to hear is one who has a membership with the worldwide General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists Organization. The bible and the Spirit of prophecy say something different. Many names have been given to God’s people throughout history such as “Israel”, “Abraham’s seed”, “Jews”, “Christians”, “Protestants”, and “Adventists” though some may object. The name “Adventist” refers to a person with the expectation of the soon Advent of Christ.
