Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution quite specifically gave Congress the power to coin money and regulate the Value thereof. Recognizing that the right to coin, not print, money was the only right to create money which had been given Congress by the Constitution, and after many notes and reports on this subject by Jefferson and Hamilton, Congress enacted the Coinage Act of 1792, which provided for a bimetallic system… this act further provided for unlimited coinage by the U.S. mint… and it designated only gold and silver coins to be minted, said Gordon McLendon. All the nations of the world need to look at the protections afforded by adopting a Republic based upon the American model. Imagine real money whose value is not eroded by inflation of the paper money supply.
