What rabbits teach. Rabbits teach that love & care are the most important things in life, and that the time you spend with people is valuable and appreciated. They also teach responsibility. Without me they wouldnt survive. They are dependent upon me. They didnt ask to be brought into this world. Raising children is special and that every stage is precious and short as they grow up so fast even though we sometimes wish it was faster (in rabbit terms) so they would show better or be used for the breeding program. Enjoy right now, things could change tomorrow. There are people that need your love and care, except them as your own as the greatest foster rabbits do. You can overcome every difficulty you face in your life with the proper love and care, and later do things you never could have been expected to before as Pebbles overcame her various health issues, malocclusion, wryneck, &ear infection, and now has three precious kits. Everyone has their own personality and not all boys and girls act the same way even though stereotypes suggest so. We are all unique and some need more care than others. Even though you may not look like people think you should standard you are just the way you were created and meant to be. Rabbits also teach finance. Keeping track of what you spend, and receive, and how much it takes to support them, my second family. They teach the importance of family time, the value of eating together as a family around the table, as they eat together around the food dish. A lost custom. A mothers love is comforting, and mother cares about you. Children pick up from their parents, inherited personality traits, and learnt ones, and bad habits can be broke but its best to stop them in the beginning as discipline is a part of love. (When you see mommy bunny knock her child out of the food dish, or not let the child nurse right then even though it wants to). They teach that you cant be truly happy without the human touch, and that much can be said without words. Binkies, head twitches, moping, biting, buzzing, circling, love bites, biting paw for attention, sticking your Nose through the wire for a kiss, nudging, and licking. All forms of communicating without words. Body language really does communicate more than the words we say as humans. So much can be taught through this fragile creature, plus more than I probably mentioned. Take time to just sit and watch your rabbits everyday activities and see what you can take away from it. ~Amanda of Amandas Bunny Galaxy
