What side are you on? Joe Stowell READ: Psalm 73 But as for me, the nearness of God is good ... Psalm 73:28 In the heat of the American Civil War, one of the presidents advisers said at that time gave thanks that God was on their side. The president replied, Lord, what worries is not that God is on our side, but were on the side of him, because he always does the right thing. What a great challenge for us, we take for granted that the Lord is to support our plans, prospects, decisions and desires! However, the response of that president reminds us that even our best plans, perhaps not come close to God desires. Undoubtedly, the psalmist wanted to side with the Lord, to pray: Search me, O God, and know my heart [...] and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting (Psalm 139: 23 -24). When we follow his example and approach to God (73:28), we can be confident that we are on your side, as your Spirit helps us evaluate our thoughts and actions according to his ways, which are always correct. So, let us ask ourselves: Are we the Lords side? If so, reflect His love in the way we relate to those around us. Forgive, and be righteous and pacifiers. Gods ways are always best. When you approach God, youre probably on your side.
