Gospel of St. Matthew 5:3-10 I’m no Biblical scholar but I have been searching for Truth and Wisdom all my life. As I grew up, we moved a lot, sometimes twice in a year and I attended many different churches of various denominations. My life has been and will always be about Social Justice. And this can best be summed-up in Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount or the Beatitudes. By the way, I may be mistaken but I think this is where the Beats got their name and from that came the Beatniks and from that came the Hippies which makes sense to me or fits. Unless and until we combine forces spiritually, intellectually, economically, physically to fight the forces of Darkness, we will continue to live in fear, in pain, in degradation, in humiliation, in despair. I believe to the marrow of my bones that the forces of Goodness far outweigh the forces of Evil. But we are divided and fight too much amongst ourselves. This is partly due to the human condition but it is largely due to the purposeful undermining of our political, educational, media, religious, and economic institutions! I label the Dark Forces “Corporate Cockroaches” partly out of a form of Satire and partly for the sake of brevity. I feel the pain & suffering of humanity and it causes my soul to cry out and my Spirit to nearly extinguish. We have reached a point in human history where the very existence of our species is wavering on the brink of extinction. The most glaring evidence of this is Global Warming. If we don’t find a way to unite as a species and set aside our superficial religious & political differences, I fear that the forces of Darkness, the region of the Corporate Cockroaches, will either destroy humanity in a nuclear conflagration or will have polluted our planet to the point that Death will be preferable to Life! ---Radical Rob, July 21, 2013 P.S. I was watching yet another of the hundreds of You Tube videos of my hero, Noam Chomsky, recently, and he said that Jesus wasn’t a prophet in the traditional meaning of the word but was actually an intellectual dissident. I thought Right On! And this is what I believe we need my friends, we need spokespersons of the intellectual caliber of Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Michael Parenti and the passion of Martin Luther Kind & others. ---Namaste, Peace, Love, & Joy!
