What the hell is ISIS doing? Is it wrong to threaten Christians to convert to Islam, pay a tax or die? I know I have been focused on the Palestine/Israel conflict, but this ISIS thing really bothers me. I know that Prophet Muhammad, when he was in Medina, allowed The People of the Book, Christians and Jews, were allowed to remain living among the Muslims by playing a tax. As I understand this, the taxes were not for anything more than helping maintain the city where they all lived. But I never read anything about killing anyone, the Quran specifically says that the People of the Book are closer to Muslims than neighbors. Sh. Mohamed-Umer Esmail, is this acceptable in Islam?
