What the nation needs more than Food Security Bill is a Farmer Security Bill. Look at the rate at which farmers are giving up agriculture, conversion of agricultural land into industrial land, farmer suicides, rotting grains, corrupt and messy PDS and so on. What Food will government provide if there is no agricultural output in the first place? Equally important is what about the impact on an already high inflation? If government ends up buying most of the grains then there will be a weak supply in the market and inflation will simply sky rocket. And what about the cost? who will bear it?
