What these communities need is tough love and a gentle caress. They need the intervention of re-invention and they need it done with a purpose and a conviction that ignores poll numbers and campaign rhetoric. Communities that do not work need to be broken up and scattered to the four winds. Those that do need to be supported, encouraged, developed and duplicated. Nothing short of such strong medicine will bear any meaningful fruit, and regardless of who is snapping at their heels this government cannot get away with playing political cat and mouse any longer. If they do not get what they want the gangsters are prepared to continue the killing, if they do get what they want the killing will erupt elsewhere because nothing succeeds like success. Is this terrorism? Yes it is, and the worst kind. People are dying and people will continue to die until real governance steps up, until someone decides to lead from in front for a change.
