What this government is doing is akin to a woman in labour who has - TopicsExpress

What this government is doing is akin to a woman in labour who has been rushed to a clinic or hospital for delivery and instead of the doctors, nurses and midwives working to get her to deliver, they start telling her; oh, in the short term, we have to organize the ward for you to be sent there, in the medium term we will try and get the baby out and get you stabilized; oh, do you know that 20 years ago, your mother was also brought here? She was even in more serious pain and took 4 hours before we got her baby out; as for your grandmother, the situation was even worse, she didnt deliver aa till dawn; our facility is constrained because we are taking care of more patients now, in the past, it was only a few who came here so we were able to help patients quickly; in the long term, we will try and get more facilities and expand this place so that we can respond to more cases in time etc. etc.. All this while, the lady is still in serious pain and no effort is being made on the real issue of getting her to deliver, the pains are getting worse, she is losing her breath, she is propably closer and closer to losing her life or baby or both and the doctors continue to talk; oh dont worry, this is not a crisis koraa, you are only facing small pains; the senior midwife here was taking ill last week so she hasnt been to work for some days now, when she returns things will get better; we normally have some student nurses also come around to assist us but they have abandoned us recently; we have even developed a home grown/ in house program to help us deal with these issues and they go on and on. That is what is happening to Ghana now. All we want is for this obviously clueless government to fix the economy and end the suffering, we dont really care about their opinions on the matter, they are not paid and provided all the largesse of state to be describing our problems and classifying them! Asem b3n koraa ni?
