What to Watch This Weekend: Seth Meyers SNL Send-Off, Super Bowl, Sherlock Finale and More On TV this weekend: Melissa McCarthy hosts Seth Meyers‘ final Saturday Night Live, Girls and Looking come early, the Super Bowl puts an ice cap on the NFL season, Sherlock gets a new nemesis and Episodes seeks a perfect pitch. Here are 15 programs to keep on your radar. SATURDAY, FEB. 1 8 pm The Gabby Douglas Story (Lifetime) | Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas performs the stunts in this biopic chronicling her path to the 2012 summer games, while Sydney Mikayla and Imani Hakim (Everybody Hates Chris) take turns playing the gymnast. Regina King (Southland) and S. Epatha Merkerson (Law & Order) co-star. 9 pm Black Sails (Starz) | Flint finds a thief on his crew; Silver hides in the brothel with Max. 10 pm Girls (HBO) | Special day and time: Hannah’s attempt to help Adam and Caroline work through their issues doesn’t go the way she planned. Also, per the synopsis, Ray gives Marnie “candid advice.” (Euphemism, much?) 10:30 pm Looking (HBO) | Special day and time: At a video-game launch party aboard an aircraft carrier (just go with it), Patrick and his co-worker Owen meet Kevin (played by Russell Tovey of the UK’s Being Human), a gay Brit who’s Patrick’s new boss. 11:30 pm Saturday Night Live (NBC) | Late Night-bound Seth Meyers anchors his final Weekend Update, Melissa McCarthy (Mike & Molly) returns for a third stint as host and Imagine Dragons is musical guest. SUNDAY, FEB. 2 Puppy Bowl X 10 am — 6 am The Walking Dead marathon (AMC) | AKA “The Zombie Bowl,” forgo pigskin for human flesh with this marathon of the first two seasons. (Seasons 3 and 4A get replayed next weekend.) 11:30 am – 7 pm Top of the Lake marathon (Sundance) | If you missed Elisabeth Moss’ award-winning turn as a New Zealand detective searching for a missing pregnant girl, do yourself a favor and view this rebroadcast of the entire miniseries. Noon Kitten Bowl (Hallmark) | The channel’s inaugural feline showdown includes obstacle courses (with lasers! and toys on strings!) and – according to a promo video – lots of “cattitude.” 3 pm Puppy Bowl (Animal Planet) | Not a cat person? Dog lovers can enjoy the channel’s 10th annual pup face-off, featuring a halftime performance by Keyboard Cat. (Should the PTC worry about a catnip slip?) 6 pm Super Bowl XLVIII (Fox) | The Seattle Seahawks go up against the Denver Broncos at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, with halftime show by Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. After the Super Bowl | New Girl and Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Fox) | A special episode of New Girl finds Jess and Cece invited to one of guest star Prince’s mansion parties… which the guys decide to crash.
