What to Watch: Week 5 Plenty of great matchups again this week, kids! Most notable of these may be the Battle for Ohio: Cincinnati @ Ohio State. Here we go! Thursday, September 25 7:30 PM - Texas Tech @ 24 Oklahoma State (ESPN) *Texas Tech is 2-1 heading into their first Big 12 game. They face a tough test against OSU: the Cowboys are also 2-1, their sole loss coming in week one against no. 1 FSU. The Cowboys lost narrowly, 37-31. 10:00 PM - 11 UCLA @ 15 Arizona State (FS1) *This should be a great one. Both UCLA and Arizona State are 3-0, though their stories have been very different thus far. UCLA has had a tough road to this point, having battled through hard-fought games against Virginia and Texas. Arizona State, on the other hand, has had a fairly easy season thus far, having rolled over Weber State and New Mexico before an uncomfortably close win over Colorado last week. The winner of this game will walk away firmly in control of the Pac-12 South. SATURDAY, September 27 12:00 PM Wyoming @ 9 Michigan State (ESPN2) *This could be interesting. Wyoming is 3-1, MSU is 2-1. On the face of it, it would appear that MSU holds the clear advantage. However, MSU and Wyoming both lost to Oregon by nearly identical margins. Northwestern @ Penn State (B1G) *At 1-2, Northwestern is already watching their Big Ten title hopes slipping away. They need a win this week to remain in contention, and they’ll face a tough test against 4-0 Big Ten powerhouse Penn State. 3:30 PM 1 Florida State @ North Carolina State (ESPN2) *FSU is cruising, despite losing star QB Jameis Winston for a pivotal game against Clemson last week. This week they’ll look to remain undefeated against NC State. The Wolfpack are currently 4-0, but have yet to face a quality opponent. Arkansas vs. 6 Texas A&M (CBS) *Since dropping their season opener to Auburn, Arkansas has won three straight, including blowout victories over Texas Tech and NIU. Texas A&M is undefeated and cruising, having opened their season by crushing South Carolina, and have proceeded to stomp on every opponent since. 6:00 PM Cincinnati @ 22 Ohio State (B1G) *Cincinnati is currently undefeated, though they’ve only played two games thus far. Their high-powered offense led by star QB Gunner Kiel will square off against a depleted OSU squad that stands at 2-1. 7:00 PM Missouri @ 13 South Carolina (ESPN) *At 3-1, Mizzou is still looking like a strong SEC contender despite a stunning loss to Indiana last week. SC is also 3-1, and has weathered a long, difficult recovery after being pounded by Texas A&M in week 1. 7:30 PM Duke @ Miami (ESPN2) *Duke is 4-0, but has yet to face a quality opponent. They’ll face their first real test this week against Miami. The Hurricanes are 2-2, having taken tough losses against Louisville and Nebraska. Miami needs a quality win to establish their position in the winnable ACC Coastal division. 10:30 PM Oregon State @ 18 USC (ESPN) *Oregon State is undefeated, but has faced no serious competition through three games. That will change on Saturday, as the Beavers seek Pac-12 relevance against a USC squad fresh off a stunning loss to Boston College.
