What was supposed to be a 10 day trip in the Western Faces of the Koskiuszko Main Range, turned into just 2 days for #Nikon ambassador Mark Watson when the weather turned for the worse. Not to let an opportunity pass though, Mark decided to enjoy an epic solo camp immersed in the high mountains with a sky full of stars. In fact, this magnificent star trail shot was a bonus for Mark as he had removed his cable release and was only carrying a gorillapod, so there was no way of shooting an exposure for longer than 30 seconds. In a feat of ingenuity, Mark used a peanut from his trail mix, combined with some sports tape and one of his camera bag inserts to shoot the star trail with a 51 minute exposure. A little creative thinking resulted in an astounding image. #mynikonlife #D810
