What was supposed to be a simple outpatient surgery to correct a minor cuff tear in the left shoulder turned out to be an over 3 hour major surgery which included finding a MAJOR tear plus a torn tendon that had to be reattached and some weak bones that will require a very gentle and extensive rehab (or everything could be torn loose and we start all over again). Shirleys pain is off the charts and though she is a champion, this one affected her a lot. God gave us some SUPER nurses and nurses aids AND the therapist that began her exercises to keep the shoulder from freezing was awesome. Bottom line, the one day outpatient surgery turned into 3 days and 2 nights int he hospital and a long recovery at home. THAT PART has just begun. I am exhausted and as care giver I have to chart and keep going the meds. I must now lead her in the exercises AND I am the house mom to keep up this place. I feel VERY Inadequate for this task. THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS and I will let you know when we are ready for company. For now, please continue to pray and hold us BOTH before the Lord. HE IS THE GREAT PHYSICIAN and the ONE WHO HEALS. Our trust is in HIM.
