What we should be doing for our children is teaching them how to give, not to receive. Receiving comes naturally - its a fundamental human instinct. But Giving is a whole lot harder, and one that builds communities, happy lives and sustains Life as we know it. Instead of walking your 2 or 3 kids up the road as they knock on doors asking for sweets, perhaps spend a Saturday walking your kids along the neighbourhood asking people if theyd like any help with shopping, washing cars, gardening, anything, really! Teach the next generations how to survive in a world stricken with greed and no thought for others. Give :) x
