Whats everyones opinion of Happy by Pharell being sung in church? Now I remember growing up in church for Mothers Day we would either sing Song for Mama by Boyz II Men or walk in to it during a processional. They were R&B in the 90s. Here is my two cents. While some saints are outraged and in disbelief, and are judging, lets ask why are they singing Happy? Church celebration, special event, perhaps its their welcome song? Whatever it is why does it matter? The two largest arguments that I have seen thus far is that we dont know Pharells state of mind or heart when the song was written? Do we know the heart and state of minds of the persons writing the Gospel music we hear on the radio? I think not! There are much larger issues that we as a body of Christ should be debating. 1. Giving our children the right to pray to God in schools. 2. Whether or not the US Government should classify churches as a non-profit organization. The way I see it, we need to be uniting to fight these battles together, than creating a war amongst ourselves. Honestly, it doesnt matter to me that this is being done. I commend them for thinking outside the box and trying to be different and inserting life into Christianity. Some Christians really dont look to happy though. Were sulking and we want the whole world to sulk with us. Lastly, if the leaders of the church are aware of this, its their choice! You dont need to give an offering, pay a tithe, check out their website, or view their live stream. Shout out to ECM in Compton, California though. I know because of this they have been put under scrutiny, but clearly the way first lady is dancing, they are HAPPY!!
