Whats on my mind? The future of the Trail Ambassador Programme, thats what. How can we go from 11 candidates to three candidates in three short years? What has changed? Is it a sign of things to come? Has it run its course? I find that hard to accept, after watching hundreds of young women experience the empowerment it brings, the life skill enhancements, and the excitement of sharing the love of ones community with others. Listening to the parents of the teens who have participated warms my heart as they burst with the pride they have in their daughters. Watching the community embrace its youth gives me hope of bridging the generations. Is it the full schedules of todays teens holding them back? Is it the misconceptions surrounding the programme? Is it fear of the unknown? To those who have had this experience, I invite you to tell your story. To those who are skeptical, I invite you to inquire. To those hiding in the shadows, afraid to take the risk, yet curious about what the programme could have in store for you, I offer my hand. I offer to lead you to a safe, caring, nurturing environment, where you can explore your potential, and prepare for an exciting future.
