Whats on my mind is the minimum wage. It is true that the fast food companies in EUROPE pay more and remain profitable. However, Europe is plagued with 25% unemployment. The market caters to the rich and not the masses. In Sweden, for example, 70% of the workers wages go to TAXES to support their SOCIALIST AGENDA. Fast food companies here will not pay the higher minimum wage. They will AUTOMATE. The small independent businesses here will be crushed. Only the corporations that have the CAPITAL to automate will survive. Wal-Mart is the prime example of underpaid and overworked people in this nation. They THRIVE anyway because we will not make a STAND. People here have chosen to buy cheap dollar store junk, pink slime in dollar menus, and support business that ship jobs overseas. Remember Ace Hardware, True Value, Sears, Jewel, Shopping Malls, Ben Franklin, Goldblatts, or Woolworth stores? All these businesses are gone or almost gone (Sears and Jewel are dying slowly) because of WAL MART. Jewel and Sears paid UNION WAGES. ALDI pays UNION WAGES but still sells their product for less and they do well. They are the notable EXEPTION. Raising the wage isnt the solution. Taxing businesses that move overseas is part of it. The other part is training our people to be welders, machinists, millwrights, hvac techs, electricians, plumbers, pipe fitters, carpenters, computer programmers and repairmen...GROW UP AND EXCEPT A LIBERAL ARTS EDUCATION HAS FAILED US. Everyone is not going to be a CEO, PRESIDENT OF THE USA, Lawyer, Doctor, Professional Athlete, or be discovered on American Idol. We tell children they can be whatever they want to be, but that is a LIE. SOMETIMES YOU JUST DONT HAVE IT. Wouldnt most of us be Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Micheal Jordan, or Brad Pitt if we could?
