Whats on my mind it says. Well I have a little rant and I dont mean to offend anyone or gripe at anyone, just something that is on my heart. Lately on my FB I keep seeing articles that are criticizing Police officers and how they handled situations they are in. My rant is that until you walk in their shoes and have to deal with the crap they are dealt each day you shouldnt make judgments. I understand that there are bad cops, Yes there are. Just like, unfortunately, there are bad teachers, preachers, coaches, doctors, nurses, scout leaders, etc. But as in every story there are 2 sides and most of the time you are only getting one side and it isnt always the truth. When we were children we were taught to respect officers and to show them respect, but today I believe that most are taught to hate them and to disrespect them. Just as they are not taught to respect their teachers, I think many are taught not to respect the police or the law. With 2 officers in my life, my son in law and a nephew plus other family and friends, I see what they have gone through to a limited extent but truthfully not near as much as is reality. Both of my family members have been wounded on the job by people intent on ending their lives. In both instances there were those phone calls in the middle of the night to wives, moms and dads to come to the hospital. I have seen those tears and the fear. They each have children that they very much want to return home to and hug and kiss one more time. Each time they walk out that door and receive that goodbye hug and kiss they dont know if it will be their last. Todays world is not the world that we grew up in. There is so much more to deal with today and much of it is evil. There are many out there that only want to hurt them or worse. So whether it is a story of a dog that was shot or a teenage girl being roughed up by a cop or whatever the case maybe always remember that for every bad cop there are more good cops and you dont know the full story. Why dont we find the stories of good officers and post those. Seems the bad always gets more attention than the good. That is the end of my rant, just wanted to give you all something to think about.
