Whats the Brierpatch all about? This came up recently when a member said, I joined this site to learn homesteading skills with like minded people....and it was that way in the beginning. But more and more Im seeing racist posts like this one .... It seems this person was forgetting to read the opening blurb that says what the Brierpatch is all about. Read it right at the top of the site. Its the post thats pinned there. Heres what it says, The Brierpatch is intended to be a casual meeting place where people of like minds and good will and who are preppers, survivalists, backwoods, off-grid, homestead, simplicity, self sufficiency, vegetable gardening, etc. can post chit chat without rules and requirements about posting form and content. I started the Brierpatch so people could give their opinions on the various topics, even if its political. Most sites, it is forbidden to talk about political, religious, and other topics that are not strictly what the group claims to be. Suppose its a survival group and you want to talk about how some politician is making survival more difficult, or some such. Well, as soon as you say, Obama, then the admin deletes your post and threatens you not to do it again. Well, I dont like that and I began the Brierpatch to protect Conservatives, Libertarians, and Christians because these folks are under continual attack to shut up and its made clear by the Leftists that they hate such people who express non-Leftist opinions and so on and so forth. Well, here, Conservatives, Libertarians, and Christian views are protected and the people who want to express them are free to. If you want to really piss me off in a big way, real quick, just try and shame or shush other members and to try to censor their speech. Nope, not here. Thats protected and I wont have folks picking on other members or trying to control them, call them names, or harshly criticize them. But the Brierpatch is meant to be a place for people interested in self sufficiency, gardening, guns, survivalism, and all related topics. Its a place where we can chat freely without pressure. Pretty simple, really.
