Whats the difference between opting for an instant death, versus a - TopicsExpress

Whats the difference between opting for an instant death, versus a slow, decades-long, insidious one? The end result is the same. This is what pesticides are doing to us, chemicals that have been around since after WW2 that our great grandparents had virtually no exposure to and we expect our tiny children to be able to detoxify on a daily basis. Now new classes of pesticides - neonicotinoids (based on nicotine) are killing bees by the hundreds. These pesticides are embedded within plants, particularly corn, so that the entire thing including seeds contain the pesticide. A recent study found 70% of dead bees to contain these neonicotinoids and particularly were found by corn planting sites. I come from a family of German farmers who maintained several hives. Farmers know bees are important for pollinating crops. Bees also work better than fungicidal sprays at delivering beneficial microbes to fruit trees which prevent molds from growing. Without bees we would not have food! You have undoubtedly heard of this issue in the media but I need to bring it to your attention again. Most of us are so damn disconnected from the shit we put in our mouth (and often it really is shit) that I really would urge you to at least be self-aware not only of the nutritional quality but the politics behind what youre putting in your body. (Read books by Joel Salatin, Michael Pollan, The Paleo Manifesto, etc). Vegan, Raw, Vegetarian, Paleo, Macrobiotic, Whatever. INFORMED is the most important word. You can: get learned on the above books. You can: avoid corn and soy, the most GMO & pesticide sprayed crops on the planet (or buy organic). You can: not support Monsanto. You can: start buying organic (pesticide-free) foods in general. Pesticides act by poisoning the nervous system. This is no different in humans, it is just such a small quantity of poison. Over a lifetime, these toxins build up in our fat stores including the myelin of our nerves, even more so in our poor tiny children who are slower at detoxing than us. You can: detoxify. (See an ND or holistic nutritionist). We cant all afford organic all of the time, but if you have the ability, please do your part. Vote with your dollar. The govt is in collusion with these giant multi-national corporations. It really does come down to how the consumer is spending their money which will dictate trends in the food world. GMO and pesticides do not feed the planet. They are killing it & us instead. What kind of a world do you hope to leave our children? I vote for choosing a sustainable one.
