Whats the matter with the fire service today? Too many people like to Monday quarterback and have so much to say yet hide behind a computer screen and alter their own identiy to hide their own short comings. This below was an annonomous comment left on an article I wrote on First Due Arrival. The only backs I patted were the responders that day, not my own. Chief Sahatjian you should be ashamed of yourself that you could compose a self indulgence story of success which in actuality was a complete failure on your part. Why wasn’t your contingency plan aka your “duty crew” first due? Your firehouse is located less than a mile from this fire. First due was in fact a tower ladder from your 2nd alarm assignment. If this company had previous knowledge of your departure from the township they certainly would of responded with an engine company with significantly more water as opposed to the 300 hundred gallons of water that the tower ladder carries. Although faced with this challenge the mutual aid tower ladder made a valiant effort to begin rescue efforts and fire suppression. 15 members responding on your rescue only ensured your second due engine didn’t have manpower to go in service. Keep patting yourself on your back…….you are delusional!
