Whats your favorite #startrek? On this day 48 years ago, TOS premiered in the US, and like other sci-fi, much of it was social science fiction, what if scenarios that made us look at our current social, ethical, scientific, and/or technological issues in a different light. This is a great article about how DS9 did the same 20 years ago. For this reason, and for the realistic characters (how many other series captains had a wife and family?), DS9 was my (Vince) personal favorite.
