Wheels down. Pilot: For those of you sitting on the right, you have a beautiful view of the Grand Canyon the next few minutes. I was sitting on the left. Trip started out on an even more exciting level. I notice shortly after take-off that our five-hour flight from Philly to LA is heading east. Calm-voiced pilot says, Well folks, our avionics doors is open so were heading back to the airport to shut that and then well be on our way. Fifteen minutes later, he says, Well we managed to take care of the problem in mid-air so were going to head on to Los Angeles. Love that calm voice.
