Nevertheless they have something to say: They are talented and inquisitive, their zest for life is not lost. The protagonist Anton is searching for work although he loves drawing comics. Yet it’s difficult to make plans: the future is uncertain- but at least friendship isn’t. “IN SEARCH OF THE LOST”, animation by Sitora Myustafayeva, 7’ How is our past interfering our present? A woman reminisces about her childhood in Russia . “In Search of the Lost” is animated film about time and its effects on men. Tradition, cultural and national values are the main issue of this film. “FATHER” by Ainur Ismailova, 20’ A litte boy is has to come to terms with his father’s death trying to figure out how to move on. In this film his loss leads him to the philosophical question What is God?“. “Father” is the Director’s diploma work and winner of Student Film festival BASTAU, Almaty in 2013. “GAS IS OVER” by Askhat Kuchinchirekov, 17’ In GAS IS OVER, a boy’s dreams revolve around one particular lake. Finally he sets off for the lake with his father. However, their journey is riddled with unexpected challenges and the father’s struggles to keep his promise. “Gas is over” was the Winner of Muhr AsiaAfrica for the Best Short in 2013 16:30 – 17:00 Tea pause from the organizers of Filmdays of Kazakhstan 17:00 “KELIN”, 82’ Feature film by Ermek Tursunov KELIN proves the creative potential of Kazakhstan as a film-making country. This obscure film tells the story of a forced marriage, without dialogue and little music. Modern visual language twines together with folk identity and core essence.
